Gene Leonardi

Gene is a seasoned sales leader with more than 20 years of experience in the software industry, leading sales organizations in both large companies and Silicon Valley startups.
Before joining Optoro, Gene worked at BMC Software where he led a global team of sales and marketing professionals with an annual revenue of $100M+. Gene’s passion for disruptive technology with practical, high ROI impact drew him to sales leadership roles in other large companies like Sun Microsystems and retail tech giant NCR, as well as Silicon Valley startups. He now leads the Optoro sales team, which focuses on growing business with omnichannel retailers.
Gene resides in Washington DC with his wife, four children, and two overfed dogs. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business and enjoys drumming in an “old-guy” rock and blues band.
